AI Connectors

Grail can be added to supported Claude and ChatGPT workspaces so users can search assets, find transcript matches, and open the original media without leaving their AI chat.

This page covers the workspace setup flow for:

• Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise
• ChatGPT Business

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

• a live Grail workspace your users can already sign in to
• owner or admin access for your Claude or ChatGPT workspace
• the Grail connector URL

Use this connector URL:

https://vault.grailmedia.app/mcp

Tip

Each user still signs in to Grail individually the first time they use the connector. Adding the connector at the workspace level makes it available to your team, but it does not sign everyone in automatically.

Claude

Claude supports custom remote MCP connectors on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans.

1. Open connector settings

   In Claude, open Settings and go to Connectors.

2. Add a custom web connector

   Click Add, choose Custom, then choose Web.

3. Enter your Grail connector URL

   Paste https://vault.grailmedia.app/mcp, then save the connector.

4. Connect Grail

   Complete the Grail sign-in flow the first time you use the connector.

Tip

On Claude Team and Enterprise, an owner typically adds the connector first, then each user connects their own Grail account. On Claude Pro and Max, users can add the connector directly to their own account.

ChatGPT Business

1. Open workspace settings

   In ChatGPT, go to your workspace settings and open Apps & Connectors.

2. Add a custom connector

   Choose Add custom connector.

3. Enter your Grail connector URL

   Paste https://vault.grailmedia.app/mcp, name it Grail, and save it.

4. Enable the connector for your workspace

   Once the connector has been added by a workspace owner or admin, it becomes available to workspace members.

5. Ask users to connect Grail

   Each user connects Grail from their own settings before first use, then signs in with their Grail account.

What Users Can Do

Once connected, users can ask Claude or ChatGPT to:

• find assets by title, file path, tag, or media type
• search transcript matches by spoken words or phrases
• open the original asset in Grail from the returned result
• fetch more detail for a specific result when they want more transcript context

Example Prompts

• Find Grail assets related to baptism.
• Search Grail transcripts for "He is risen".
• Open the first Grail result about Easter promo.
• Find the clip where the speaker mentions grace and hope.

Troubleshooting

The connector appears, but no one can use it

Confirm that the connector was added at the workspace or organization level by the correct admin role, then have the user open the connector and complete their individual Grail sign-in.

The connector cannot connect

Confirm that users can already sign in to Grail at https://vault.grailmedia.app/ in a browser.

Results are missing expected assets

Check that the user has permission to access those assets in Grail. Connector results follow each user’s Grail access.

Note

Connector availability and setup screens can change as Claude and ChatGPT update their workspace tools. If a screen looks different from the steps above, look for the same connector or custom connector settings in your workspace admin area.
